Taste What's New in Middle School Literature
Millions of books are published each year. Even Media Specialists have difficulty keeping up! In this session, colleagues will “sample”, “nibble”, and “taste” 35-40 middle grade and (YA) books that have been published recently while participating in an easily adapted class model for introducing new literature to their students.

Twine Starts in the Library...
...but you choose where to go with this amazing interactive fiction tool that will engage students in rich writing experiences (with some coding as well)! Learn how to use Twine to write “choose your own adventure” style stories and games. I’ll demonstrate the basics, share numerous curricular applications, and give participants time to try it out.

The Magic of Sharing Your Story: How we are using storytelling to change our school culture
Everyone has a story! Learn how we use storytelling to improve our school culture in order to be more inclusive. We collaborated with students in English classes, Yearbook, Student Council and more to provide various avenues for all voices to be heard, both students and teachers. We will have many examples of how we are using the power of storytelling, from projects to spur of the moment interviews. Participants will leave with a variety of ideas to use in their media centers and classrooms.
