Looking for an "AMAZING" research tool?
We all know how critical it is to teach students how to find and evaluate sources, but teaching them how to cite, organize, and use those sources is just as important. Since EasyBib has discontinued its school licensing, many of us have been searching for something to take its place. Enter NoodleTools --- a strangely named but powerful tool at a reasonable price. Come and see what this all-encompassing tool can do for you and your students.

Click here to download a copy of my presentation so you can edit it and use it to present to faculty and other stakeholders.

Click here to get an editable copy of the Google Slide presentation to show students how to set up a NoodleTools account.

The Magic of Collaboration: Art meets Technology
This workshop will showcase a collaborative project between Mrs. Laws, an art teacher at Eastern High School and Mrs. Sumner, the EGHS School Library Media Specialist. This collaborative project teaches students how to create Book Origami, a sculptural practice of folding book pages to create word art or images in print. While doing so, though, students use Web 2.0 tools to take pictures throughout the folding and then upload these pictures to Windows Movie Maker to create stop-motion-animation videos of the entire process. They learn OneDrive to store and share photos, Windows Movie Maker to create the actual video, and QR code generators to use in their final display around the library, linking their video for students to view next to their final projects. The workshop itself will teach school library media specialists the full project—including how the collaboration began, where to find materials, and standards used. Afterwards, the first 20 participants will learn how to create Book Origami themselves using books and patterns provided that they can take home with them!
