Students want to read however their book selection generally does not reflect their culture. They are more eager to want to read if they can see themselves in their books. This session will provide resources and a guideline to selecting titles that provide positive and encouraging images of multicultural characters. This session will also introduce a high school junior and her service learning journey to help provide more multicultural books to public school libraries.

I love reading doing puzzles and a hanging with my family. Reading is a passion for me. I like to make sure that students actually get books that relate to them and that they get that aha moment.
