Kathleen Burkinshaw, MG author, will discuss how historical fiction can be used in other subjects, such as enhancing current events discussions. She’ll also discuss how some classes have used her book, THE LAST CHERRY BLOSSOM, which was inspired by events in her mother’s life in Hiroshima during WII and surviving the atomic bombing on August 6th. (She will provide a Discussion Guide for TLCB and will do a book(s) giveaway after presentation).
